New Colour Crush Lipstick collection exclusive to The Body Shop

Hiya Guys and dolls,

I am excited to announce The Body Shop have launched a brand new  exclusive Colour Crush collection of lipsticks!

With 24 shades to choose from I can guarantee you will fall in love with at least one of their fabulous lipsticks or if you’re like me all of them. I have already worked out which ones I will be purchasing on pay day as I am determined to collect the whole range !!

Each lipstick is made from finely crushed pigments, cherry seed and Marula oil providing you with a high intense, smooth and colourful look perfect for any occasions you may have coming up.

All though this range will be replacing their the colour glide collection with a few new shades  there is no need to panic as The Body shop have cleverly found  exact or close shade matches to there old collection , which on of their happy and pleasant customer consultants will be happy to help you find.

I was lucky enough to try the  following shades out I am happy to finally say I have found some great doops for my favourite brand “Lime Crime”.

There are three family groups reds, nudes and pinks (Make up addicts dream).....

Over all I cannot find any faults with The Body Shop Colour Crush lipstick collection as each lipstick stays on the lips for a long period of time without priming your lips which is an added bounce for those of you who may be in a hurry to get ready in the morning.

with selected stores having a buy on get one half price offer on throughout the store I know I will
be taking great advantage  as each lipstick costs £10 each bargain leaving me with no choice but to score this range with a perfect 10/10

Matte Lip’s

What is matte lip?
The phrase “matte” is used to describe anything which is not shinny.
There is nothing more I love at the moment more than a bold matte lip. This look has dated back to old school glam as far back to accent Mesopotamian times long before gloss was created.
The matte look has been huge this year with a number of celebrities from Heidi Klum to Katy Perry, although I wouldn't go as far as saying a bit of gloss on the lips is completely out of fashion.

How to get the perfect matte lip? I hear you ask. It really is pretty straight forward and easy once you have the following tips and tricks up your sleeve.

Colour: Finding the correct shade and colour to match your tine is one of the most important steps as chosen the wrong colour tone can make your skin look aged or even washed out.
The first rule to help you know whether you are a warm or cool tones person is to look at the bottom of your wrist. For example if your veins re a greenish colour you’re warm toned. If they are blue or purple looking then you are cool toned.
For those of you who are warm skin toned then orange based lip sticks such as Sephora’s Orange Rock is your best friend. There is also red blue toned lip sticks which are perfect for those of you who are cool toned such as M.A.C Rubby Woo (my all-time favourite).

Matte: When setting out to pick your colour, make sure you are looking at matte shades for example if a label says “provides shine” or “semi- matte” then you are looking at the wrong type as these will not give you you’re desired matte finish.

Application: When applying your lip stick use a cream based lip liner which matches the colour of your lip stick or nude shade to match the colour of your natural lip.

Step 1: First of all start by outlining your lips then fill them in completely.

Step 2: To help create a clean, sharp line that stays all you need to do is apply concealer using an angled brush to apply your concealer to the outmost edge of your lip.

Step 3: The last step is to use a lip brush to apply your chosen matte shade on top of your lined lip’s, by using a lip brush to apply your lip stick, you will have full control and stay within the lines.

Useful tips of the trade
Exfoliate your lips first with a lip scrub such as Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub (smells amazing plus you can lick it off!) to help achieve a smooth lip.

  * Moisturise your lips regularly using a lip moisturiser, my favourite has to be The Body Shop’s lips care range.

 * To prevent lipstick from going on your teeth, put your index finger in your, mouth forming a tight “O” shape and slowly pull it out. You may feel silly at first but you will have a beautiful lips stick free smile

Contour and Highlight

There are a number of different methods and products which you can use in order to create the much desired Kim kardashian look. My two favourite products which I use religiously at the moment are Illamasqua’s creamy concealer.
                                   Price : £13 each
By contouring your face you will bring dimension and a natural glow to your end result as your face will no longer appear flat and one dimensional.  Instead you will be embracing the faces natural curves helping to create a two dimensional look.

Step One- Apply a shade which is much lighter than your natural skin tone to your forehead, under eyes, chin area, cheek bones and just above you jaw line. The reason behind this is anything you highlight will instantly stand out more.

Step Two- Taking your dark concealer apply to under your cheek bones,  temple, across the jaw line and  your forehead to help give a natural looking glow.

Step Three- Apply the dark shade down the side of your nose to help make your nose appear slimmer.

Step Four- Apply your lighter shade down the side of your mouth to the lines which appear naturally.

Step Five- Using a cream foundation such as M.A.C Longwear which matches your natural skin tone and blend the whole look together in circular motions with a stippling blush.

The lines which you previously had drawn on will start to blend into one creating a natural contoured & highlighted look .As this application does not leave you with an harsh lines. Instead you will see dimension and a natural looking glow.

Remember it’s all about blending ……. Much love Sophie x

Hiya guys & dolls, a slight introduction to it’s a girls’ thing …

After a hectic year of studying has come to an end for summer (yay!), I can finally pay my blog some much needed TLC!

I decided to set up and start my blog after a number of friends, family and regular customers within my work place approached me with the idea to start one up, so that they can keep up to date with the hottest products available on the beauty market.

Make-up has played a big part in my life ever since I was a little girl sitting and watching my mum apply her make-up of a morning before she set of to work. Right the way through to my early adult years (now 20 years old), where I am glued to YouTube channels, beauty journals, blogs and so forth. Therefore I decided to set up “It’s a girls’ thing” to share useful tips and tricks I have picked up and learnt over the years I have practiced make-up.

I am blessed to be working in the beauty industry which I absolutely adore since I have a huge passion for both make-up and skin care products. As I am a huge believer in self-expression (let your inner ego out) and individuals feeling confident with in their own skin.
This brings me to the name of my blog ‘Beauty embracer’. I feel every guy and doll should embrace both their inner and outer beauty as it comes in all shapes, sizes, and colours. In order to feel beautiful you must love yourself. I know this sounds cheesy right? But it’s true all beautiful people embrace their inner beauty and let it glow by loving who they are from within resulting in them looking youthful and glowing no matter what their age may be.

Anais Nin once said “what I cannot love, I ignore” which is a quote I live by as I only focus on the positives. For example I always emphasize my eyes by paying a lot of attention to them when applying make-up, as a lot of people always comment on them. I can promise you there is something which is stunning and beautiful about you too.

Another things every guy and doll also needs to remember is that nobody looks like a supermodel or celebrities in magazines it’s all make-up and Photoshop so it’s time we all embrace our beauty and stop comparing ourselves in the end we are all unique and different in our own beautiful way, after all beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I hope use enjoy my blog! Please feel free to leave comments and remember to leave your URL as I will be delighted to visits and follow your blog on Bloglovin.
Remember to shine bright like a diamond! Much love, Sophie x

Illamasqua – False Eyelashes

I am In love with Illamasqua’s range or false eyelashes. All of their eyelashes are handmade and are available in a number of styles and colours perfect for all alter egos.

These eyelashes are perfect for turning any make up look in to a dramatic, sensual or romantic look depending on the style of your choice.

                                                         Ranging from £12

The Body Shop – Coconut Shimmer Body Butter

The Body Shops Famous body butters leave your skin feeling soft, silky and looking smooth as it provides a 24 hour all around hydration.

The coconut shimmer body butter is made using organic coconut oil and added shimmer to give you beautiful looking skin for all occasions, whether you are adding moisture to your body after a nice hot relaxing bath, on holiday or you are adding the finishing touches to your night out look.

Priced at £13 I can defiantly say this product will always be a part of my beauty regime as I am in LOVE with the gentle coconut scent this product leaves on your skin all day round!!

Urban Decay – Naked Palette

One thing I can say about the much loved Urban Decay Naked palette is these 12 neutral shades do not leave you feeling naked!

This palette consists of matte, shimmer, satin and sparkly shadows. Each shadow is creamy, smooth and blends beautifully on the eye to create a deep Smoky or summery bronze look.

Only down side to this product is that it is only made up of two matte shades. I feel this palette would be more diverse if it included more matte shades, due to shimmery shades having a very ageing look on the eye for individual above a certain age. However I highly recommend this palette to any make- up enthusiast.
